Bad Iburg - Kneipp Spa

The scen­ic loc­a­tion of Bad Iburg on the sunny south­ern edge of the Teuto­burg Forest was con­sidered so live­able by the prince-bish­ops of Osnab­rück that they chose this place as their res­id­ence for 600 years. The town's land­mark, the castle built in the 11th cen­tury, can be seen from afar. Soph­ie Char­lotte, who later be­came the first Queen of Prus­sia, was born here in 1668.
