Accessibility Statement

(Date of statement: 24 May 2024)

This Accessibility Statement contains information on the accessibility of our website in accordance with Section 9b of the Niedersachsen Disability Equality Act (NBGG) and on the relevant contact options.

This Accessibility Statement applies to the website www.niedersachsen-tourism.com. This website is largely compatible with the requirements of the harmonised European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (08-2018).

About this Accessibility Statement

This Accessibility Statement is current as of 24 May 2024. The assessment is based on a test conducted by siteimprove on 14 May 2022. According to this test, the www.niedersachsen-tourism.com website achieved a score of 91.1/100 according to WCAG criteria. This meets the minimum requirement to fulfil 85% of the criteria.

Non-accessible content

However, the website www.niedersachsen-tourism.com does not fulfil all the criteria of EN 301 459. The following are not fulfilled:

9.1.1.1 Non-text content

9.1.3.1 Information and relationships

9.1.4.11 Non-text contrast

9.2.1.1 Keyboard

11.5.2.4 Assistive technology

The EN 301 459 standard is further supplemented by additional accessibility requirements for a website, some of which were also considered in the evaluation. There are currently no accessible PDFs available on the website (according to DIN ISO 14289-1:2016-12). Furthermore, simple language has not yet been implemented (in accordance with Section 11 Disability Equality Act (BGG)).

Reasons for inaccessibility: We are not making the aforementioned items accessible or we are introducing them gradually because their accessible design would currently place a disproportionate burden on us in accordance with Section 9a(4) Niedersachsen Disability Requirement Act (NBGG).

Further explanations

The www.niedersachsen-tourism.com website will soon be relaunched. In the process, greater emphasis will be placed on meeting additional criteria for website accessibility.
