Aller Cycle Route

The Aller-Radweg cycle route is a hidden gem linking the Weser river with the Elbe river. The 328 kilometre long route passes through idyllic landscapes along the Aller river. It runs from where the Aller joins the Weser at Verden to its source beyond Eggenstedt near Magdeburg.

Arrival and departure

No matter how you arrive (by bike, car or train), the start points for taking the Aller-Radweg are all easy to reach.
Travel by train (Verden station), mobile home or car (parking available)
Ending in Eggenstedt (nearest station is in Eilsleben, approx. 8 km away = take bus 602)

The specifics of the tour

The first opportunity you have to cross the Aller is with the little ferry running between Westen and Otersen. Ferry times: 1 May - 3 October, Saturdays 2 - 6 pm & Sundays and public holidays 10 am - 6 pm.
The Kleinbahn-Express train runs some days between Verden and Stemmen. For more information, please visit this website.
