Oste

The 150 km long Oste is the longest tributary of the Elbe and it ranks among the most beautiful river landscapes in the north. From its source south of Tostedt, the river meanders through the heart of the Nordsee-Elbe-Weser-Dreieck (North Sea-Elbe-Weser region Triangle) and finally flows into the world shipping channel on the Elbe.

The Oste whisks you away to diverse natural landscapes, away from the hustle and bustle and headlong into your natural adventure.

The route section from Tostedt to Bremervörde is referred to as “obere Oste” (upper Oste) and the route section Bremervörde to Neuhaus as “untere Oste” (lower Oste). When travelling along the Oste by canoe, you need to be aware of various navigation instructions. These vary depending on the route section.

There are other private access and docking points on both sides of the bank between Gräpel and Bremervörde.
