Hämelschenburg Palace is in Weser Uplands between Hamelin and Bad Pyrmont and is believed to be where Frau Holle resided. The benevolent Frau Holle in the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm is said to be based on Anna von Holle, the wife of the builder Heinrich von Klenke, who lived in the 16th century. The fairy tale castle is built in the style of the Weser Renaissance and is open to visitors.
