Germany’s narrowest road bridge with a mere 1.85 metres of travel width offers a pulsating passage over the Leda river. Crossing by bike is tricky enough, but a car requires real precision!
The 50 metre long bridge was built in 1956 as a transport connection to Amdorf. Until then, the main arterial routes in the surrounding villages and the town of Leer were only accessible by passenger ferry from Amdorf and the Pünte in Wiltshausen. As there were no ferry crossings in winter, the area was completely cut off.
