In addition to the Weser Uplands trail, the Loccum–Volkenroda pilgrimage route is another experience to be had. The approximalety 300 kilometer route follows the age-old trails of Cistercian monks, who made their way from Volkenroda to the north in 1163 and set up a new monastery in Loccum. The two Cistercian abbeys Loccum and Volkenroda were linked in 2005 by the Loccum–Volkenroda pilgrimage route. The perfect trail for a temporary escape from everyday life!
