1. Marissa Park


The Marissa holiday park is located right on the shores of Lake Dümmer and is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling and water sports.  Children can also let off steam at the skating rink, the various outdoor play areas and the multi-arena. Nature lovers certainly get their money’s worth at the nature park with its peat bogs and fens as well as the protected bird reserve, and can then visit the sauna with panoramic views of Dümmer and a fireside lounge to recharge.

2. Cen­ter Parcs Bis­pinger Heide


Center Parcs Bispinger Heide is located bang in the middle of the Lüneburger Heide. You can choose from a holiday home, hotel room or special accommodation such as the treehouse or houseboat. And it is not just the range of accommodation that is diverse – the activities are varied too. A petting farm, play areas, the Aqua Mundo water park with slides and wave pools, an indoor play area and kids’ disco make for a full programme. 3. Dankern Castle


Whether holidaymaker or day tripper – Dankern castle in Emsland has something for everyone: outdoor activities include pony trekking, play castles and play areas, slipways and water skiing, or there’s the Topas water park, the laser labyrinth, ice skating, indoor soccer or kids' power tower for when the weather turns. In the vicinity there is also a carting track, an airfield for ultralight aircraft, the Meyer Werft shipyard, and you can round the day off with a trip on a steamer along the Ems or browse around the Lookentor shopping centre. 5. Camp­site Süd­see Camp


The Südseecamp near Soltau in the Lüneburger Heide gives guests the option of staying in their own tent, (hired) caravan or one of the Scandinavian style holiday homes. Besides activities such as riding, swimming in the wonderful pools, jungle golf or climbing on the high ropes course, the camp also runs activity programmes.

6. Alf­see hol­i­day park


The Alfsee Holiday and Leisure Park is located in Osnabrücker Land on the outskirts of the TERRA.vita Nature and Geopark. You can spend the night in one of the beach huts in the Beach Camp or in Germanenland, which features a rustic design reminiscent of bygone days. During the day, young and old will find plenty to entertain them, such as the Alfen Saunaland wellness centre, the covered Bullermeck Fun Center or the water ski park. Germanenland World of Adventure offers an agility parcours, a labyrinth and climbing, while the museum in the neighbouring town of Kalkriese has exhibits about the history of the Germanic peoples and the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.

7. Ser­en­geti Park Hod­en­ha­gen


Over 1500 wild animals including giraffes, bison, rhinoceros, zebras, antelopes and lions across a 10 kilometre stretch, over 200 monkeys of 20 different species spread across 15 hectares and over 40 fairground rides and shows – each of the three safaris has its own spellbinding highlights. You can explore the terrain in your own car, take the Serengeti bus, or even jet through the theme park by speedboat on the splash safari. 8. Lan­dal Salztal Paradies


Located in the spa town of Bad Sachsa in the southern Harz, Landal Salztal Paradies offers direct access to the hiking and mountain bike trails of the nature park. Having fun in nature is the specialty here:   popular outdoor activities include the rope bridge, the BaumSchwebebahn flyline – a harness which allows you to glide down the castle hill at a height through the treetops – plus the Harz light railway and the dry toboggan run. There are cultural attractions too, as the UNESCO towns of Goslar and Quedlinburg are within easy reach. In inclement weather you can recharge in the water park, sauna and wellness facilities, the climbing arena as well as the Grenzlandmuseum (Borderland museum) and NatUrzeitmuseum (natural history museum) directly on site.

Located in north western Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony), the Landal Dwergter Sand holiday park is a central starting point for plenty of day trips in the region. 10. Falken­stein­see camp­ing & hol­i­day park


Looking for something different? Falkensteinsee offers a range of both traditional and unique accommodation options: from camping barrels and tiny houses to houses on stilts and pods – little oval sleeping berths made of wood. This bike-friendly park is the starting point for day trips to the geest, the moor and the nearby forests, but it is also within reach of the charming town of Oldenburg.
